'I'm not Anti-India but I will always stand with Pakistan during war' says Farhan Saeed
Farhan Saeed has made a firm and unambiguous statement about where he stands during times of conflict, saying that while he values his Indian fans and friendships, he will always choose Pakistan if his country is under attack.
Addressing the issue during a recent discussion, Farhan spoke openly about the backlash he has faced online, particularly from across the border.
He said: "I have suffered a lot on my social media following. Mere sabse zyada fans hein India mein because of Suno Chanda, Mere Humsafar, and my songs, and the times that I’ve been to India…
"But if they think that I’m never gonna say Pakistan Zindabad then I’m sorry for them. I feel sorry for them.
"Saying Pakistan Zindabad does not mean that I’m saying I hate India…I would always say Pakistan Zindabad and if there is a war on my country, my country is all I have…
"Art has no boundaries…this is why we grew up watching Bollywood movies, aj kal ki hamari generation itna bhao nahi deti.”

The interviewer interrupted to point out the larger political climate, saying:
"Because itna anti-Pakistan narrative aa gaya hai"
(Because there is now such a strong anti-Pakistan narrative).
Farhan further added that hostility ultimately harms those spreading it: "Ghalat kr rahay hein, Matlab wohi na, apnay saath ghalat kr rahay hein.
"So probably if they don’t care, we shouldn’t care as well. But it doesn’t make me anti-India.
"Agar ap mere mulk ko gaaliyan dete raho gay, dete raho gay tou… I have met the best of the best people in India"
(They are doing something wrong; in the end, they are hurting themselves. So if they don’t care, maybe we shouldn’t either. But that does not make me anti-India. If you keep abusing my country again and again… I have met some of the best people in India).
These remarks come at a time when Farhan has also been in the spotlight for personal and professional reasons. Recently, he celebrated nine years of marriage with his wife Urwa Hocane, sharing a heartfelt anniversary post and dedicating his song Manzar to her.
The couple, who married in December 2016, are widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s most admired celebrity partnerships and share a child together.
Farhan has also spoken about why Pakistani content faces restrictions in India, particularly on platforms like Netflix, arguing that despite barriers, Indian audiences continue to watch Pakistani dramas due to their emotional depth and storytelling strength.
