Fire at a towel factory near Saba Cinema in New Karachi that had intensified was finally doused on Thursday morning after four tenders of the fire brigade and several water tankers battled against it for several hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the spokesman for Fire Brigade Karachi, the process of cooling will get underway soon.

He further said a compound of cardboard had caught the fire first that later spread to the entire factory.

He said that the fire had caused damage to two factories since they both were located on the same plot. “However, no loss of life has been reported due to the incident,” he explained.

Cotton factory in Jhang catches fire

A cotton factory located at Chiniot Road near WAPDA Colony in Jhang caught fire on Thursday that soon engulfed the entire factory.

However, cause of the fire could not be ascertained till the last reports came in.
