The federal cabinet has decided to constitute a commission to probe into the recent petrol crisis in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired the meeting of the cabinet in Islamabad which also decided to import one million tonnes wheat to overcome the shortage in the country.

Addressing the cabinet members, Imran Khan announced to take the case regarding petrol crisis to its logical conclusion and punish the people involved in it.

According to the TV channel, the head and members of the commission which will probe the petrol crisis will be chosen later.

Endorsing all the agenda items, the federal cabinet also decided to import one million tonnes wheat.

The meeting was also briefed about the sugar supply in the country after it was decided a crackdown will be launched against the hoarders.

The Federal Cabinet was also briefed about the Islamabad High Court’s decision on the Navy Sailing Club in Islamabad. The Cabinet said it respects the court’s verdict and any decision on the Club will be in accordance with the law.

The Cabinet members also commended the government’s efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the country.
