Prices of essential items surged at the Utility Stores, set up to provide the people with relief, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Wednesday.

The authorities have notified the hike in the prices of flour, sugar and ghee. According to the notification, sugar price goes up by Rs17 per kg and the new price of the commodity is Rs85 per kg.

The price of a 20kg flour bag surged from Rs800 to Rs950 and the authorities raised the ghee rate by Rs 90per kg, the notification said, adding that the new price of ghee is Rs260 per kg.
