Mohammad Ahmed defends ‘Gen Z’ actors, singles out Aina Asif for praise
Veteran Pakistani actor and writer Mohammad Ahmed has spoken warmly about young actress Aina Asif, praising her humility, manners, and eagerness to learn while also offering a thoughtful perspective on the work ethic of Gen Z actors.
In a viral interview clip circulating on social media, Mohammad Ahmed reflected on the common perception that younger actors appear distant or reserved on set. According to the veteran star, their behaviour is often misunderstood.
He explained that many Gen Z actors prefer sitting quietly in separate rooms, not because they are rude, but because they are uncomfortable with the lack of organization and professionalism they sometimes witness during productions.
"When Gen Z actors come to a set, they often sit in a separate room, and people assume they're being rude. They're not rude. They simply don't know how to react when they see poor manners, disorganization, and mismanagement. That's why they quietly stay in a corner," he said.
Speaking about Aina Asif, Mohammad Ahmed had nothing but admiration for his Judwaa co-star, recalling how dedicated and respectful she was throughout the shoot.
He shared that Aina would frequently approach him with the script, affectionately calling him "Abba Miyan," and asking him to help refine her dialogue delivery and accent.
"She comes to me with the script and says, 'Abba Miyan, please help me with the tone of this dialogue.' I guide her, and she listens with so much respect. That's why I enjoy working with Aina Asif again and again."
The veteran actor went on to praise her upbringing, describing her as a polite, cultured, and well mannered young artist.
"She is a wonderful girl. She's respectful, well-mannered, and has received excellent upbringing. That's one of the reasons I genuinely enjoy working with her."
It is worthy to mention that Mohammad Ahmed and Aina Asif previously shared the screen in the popular drama serial Judwaa, where their on-screen chemistry and performances were appreciated by viewers. Aina, one of Pakistan's fastest-rising young stars, has earned recognition for her roles in dramas such as Mayi Ri, Baby Baji, Pinjra, and Judwaa, while Mohammad Ahmed continues to be celebrated as one of the industry's most respected actors and writers.
