KP Police introduces new uniform for senior officers
New dress code comes into effect from 1 July 2026: DSPs, ASPs and higher-ranking officers affected by change
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police has announced a partial change to its official uniform, making black belts and black shoes compulsory for senior officers from 1 July 2026, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to an official notification issued by the Inspector General of Police, the change has been approved by the competent authority and introduced under Standing Order No. 5/2026.
Under the revised dress code, all police officers holding the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), and above will be required to wear black belts and black shoes with their official uniforms.
The notification stated that the new regulations will come into force on 1 July and will apply to all eligible officers across the province.
Authorities have already sent instructions to all relevant police offices for immediate implementation of the decision.
Officials have been directed to ensure compliance with the updated uniform requirements before the new rules take effect.
The move represents a limited modification to the existing police uniform and is intended to standardise the appearance of senior officers serving in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
