Staging protests around Nasla Tower banned
Karachi City admn imposes Section 144 as labourers demolish the building
The city administration is continuing its task of demolishing the illegally-built Nasla Tower on Shahrae Faisal in Karachi as it has imposed Section 144 in the vicinity of the area restricting the gathering of more than four people around the tower, clearly in a bid to thwart any protests by the residents of the building, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The city administration while complying with the Supreme Court order continued the job of razing the Tower for the consecutive 6th day. The building is being pulled down with the help of machines and labourers.
Two heavy machines weighing 14 tonnes are working to demolish the building. Besides this, 400 labourers are toiling round the clock to accomplish the task. The labourers are taking out window panes and iron rods from some houses.
A large number of policemen and Rangers’ personnel are surrounding the area.
The administration has closed the road that goes from Shahrae Faisal to Shahrae Qaideen.
