Inflation rate in November likely to remain at 5-6pc: Ministry of Finance’s report
Ministry of Finance has indicated that the inflation rate in November is likely to remain at 5 to 6 percent due to pressure from food prices and agricultural production, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Ministry of Finance report further said that Pakistan's economic situation appears cautiously positive amid gradual improvement in industrial activities.
The economic activities were stabilized with the implementation of economic reforms. The overall crop outlook was showing mixed trend.
The situation is expected to improve with the availability of appropriate agricultural inputs while supply is expected to improve with the government's supportive measures.
Ministry of Finance report said that agricultural supply is likely to stabilize during Rabi season as economy was gradually on the path of stabilization.
The report said practical results of structural reforms starting to appear as fiscal discipline has improved and revenues have increased.
Ministry of Finance report claimed that a cautious strategy in government spending will continue, adding that increase in remittances, economic situation appears to be more stable.
The public debt reduced by Rs 1,371 billion. For the first time in five years, there was a significant reduction in debt in a quarter. Early repayment of expensive loans is likely to reduce financial risks. Government's strategy for economic stability was proving effective.
