Mohsin Naqvi wants Bund Road project completion on time

Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi Friday visited the Controlled Access Corridor Project site on Bund Road and reviewed the progress, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

Mohsin Naqvi reviewed the construction works on the mega project from Niazi Chowk to Babu Sabu and directed the contractors to speed up the process and complete it at the earliest.

He directed the secretary to personally monitor the project as the work is slow. He said the work should be sped up for the early completion of the 7.3 km long controlled access corridor closed road project as it will allow immediate access to the motorway from any part of Lahore.

In the briefing, it was stated that Package 1 of the controlled access corridor will be from Niazi to Saggian Interchange and from Saggian Interchange to Babu Sabu Interchange in Package 2. The length of both the packages will be 3.65km.

Mentioning the repatriation of the illegal Afghan residents in Pakistan, he said that the operations are starting from November 1 and October 31 is the deadline for them to return on their own. He also said that legal action will be taken against those who try to hide the illegal Afghan residents.

He said that the Air Quality Index this year did not reach the alarming high as it did last year due to teamwork. If the air quality index crosses the high levels, further decisions will be taken accordingly.

The CM reiterated his resolve to better public service delivery. Earlier in the day,  the chief minister approved an incentive for the Elite Force. 

According to a notification, the govt increased the monthly allowance for the excellent performance of Elite Force personnel during special operations.

Earlier, the Elite Force personnel were given a monthly allowance of Rs6500 while after the approval of the provincial cabinet, the allowance of the elite force has now been increased to Rs10000, says the notification.
