Nepra to review CPPA request for August adjustment tomorrow: Karachi consumers also face price adjustment impact

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) will hold a hearing tomorrow on the Central Power Purchasing Agency’s (CPPA) request to increase electricity prices by 19 paisa per unit under the August 2025 monthly fuel adjustment.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, if approved, the adjustment will be reflected in October’s power bills nationwide, including Karachi.

According to Nepra, monthly adjustments are applied in line with government policy guidelines, which means K-Electric consumers will also be impacted.

Previously, Nepra had notified June and July’s monthly adjustments for K-Electric, providing relief of Rs 2.57 per unit across two adjustments.

For other distribution companies (Discos), July’s adjustment brought a Rs 1.79 per unit reduction, which is reflected in the current month’s bills.
