Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway reopens for traffic
The M-1 Motorway has been reopened for all kinds of traffic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
According to a National Highway Motorway Police (NHMP) spokesperson, traffic was to be restored on affected sections, including the M-1 Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway, M-14 Islamabad-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway and E-35 Hazara Motorway.
Traffic has resumed on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway, allowing commuters to travel between the two cities.
The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) had earlier announced that all currently closed motorways would reopen at 6 am on Saturday, September 27.
The M-1 connects Islamabad with Peshawar, while the M-14 links Hakla with Dera Ismail Khan and the E-35 provides access to Hazara and northern areas.
On 23 September, Islamabad Traffic Police announced the closure of several key routes, including the M-1, M-14, Hazara Motorway, and parts of the GT Road, from 11 pm until further notice. Authorities cited the law-and-order situation as the reason for the measure.
