Woman clubs husband to death in Hafizabad

Wives being tortured or even killed are routine news items in Pakistan but something quite opposite happened in Hafizabad where, according to a private TV channel, a wife clubbed her husband to death.

It was reported that the victim, Munir Ahmed, used to have daily quarrels with his wife during which violence was a common thing. But on Wednesday, it was his wife who tortured him to death.

Meanwhile, police arrested the accused on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Ashiq Hussain.

Experts and media reports have been warning about the rise in domestic violence since the imposition of lockdown around the world. And in a country like Pakistan where it is common among all strata of society, this possibility is even more likely.
