US dollar rises to Rs221.92 in interbank trading

The US dollar on Monday continued its ascent against the Pakistan rupee as it rose a one-day high of Rs222 before closing at Rs221.92 with an appreciation of Rs1.26, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Earlier, in the morning, the Pakistani rupee had achieved a slight gain against the US dollar as it appreciated by 16 paisas to reach Rs220.50 in the interbank market.
However, the US dollar made an immediate recovery of its loss and appreciated by Rs1.34 to reach Rs222 from Rs220.66.
On Friday last, the vigorous US dollar did not show any sign of receding as its value continued to appreciate and was up by Rs1.25 in the interbank trading.
According to the forex dealers, with the start of Friday morning activity, the greenback kept up its upward trajectory in the interbank trading and by the end of the day it added Rs1.25 to its value and closed at Rs220.66.
