Members of the same family opened fire on each other over a land dispute in North Waziristan, resulting into the death of four of them with injuries to another, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The deadly incident took place at Musaki – a village located near the Mirali town at the house of Malik Dawood where these family members lived together. However, this joint family mechanism instead did not stop them triggering a long-running dispute which turned deadly on Tuesday.
According to the details obtained so far, the dead persons have been identified as Tehseenullah son of Habibullah, Samiullah son of Muhammad Waqar, Sami-ul-Haq son of Malik Dawood and Hilal son of Musa Khan.
On the other hand, it was Israr son of Waqar who received bullet wounds in the clash in which the rivals openly used automatic weapons.
Land disputes are a common feature of our society, which turn deadly in many cases. In July this year, nine people were killed and two injured when two groups exchanged fire during a funeral at Bara Banda village of Upper Dir.
In a similar clash over land dispute, last month left eight people dead and two others injured after rivals groups exchanged fire in the Chhota Lahore area of Swabi.
