Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Tuesday the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had developed cracks.
Talking to 24NewsHD TV, the interior minister said that PDM Chairman Fazl-ur-Rehman wanted the opposition to boycott the Senate elections, but the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) deflated his plan. He said that a case would be registered against JUI senior leader Mufti Kifayatullah in Lahore.
Sheikh Rashid also said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s passport would expire in February. He said the federal cabinet did not criticise the signing of an agreement between the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Pakistan and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States.
