♦A deadlock persists between Pakistan and International Monetary Fund as the global lender has put forward harsh conditions for the release of stalled loan programme asking Islamabad to undo unnecessary tax holiday facility and raise the tax collection to Rs6,000 billion.
♦According to international financial institutes, Pakistanis suffered the worst inflation in South Asia as the inflation rate in Pakistan reached above 9 percent while it remained upto four to five percent in the region; Inflation even decreases in China, India and Sri Lanka

♦Imran Khan chaired a meeting on economic situation. In the meeting, decision to reduce taxes on food prices was made. PM ordered strict action against hoarders and advised ministers to keep an eye on artificial inflation in their constituencies
♦People across the country took the streets against increased inflation, demanded to decrease the prices of ghee, oil, wheat and electricity. Demonstrations of PML-N, PPP and Jamaat-e-Islami also took their part in protest in different cities. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lawyers did judicial boycott in different cities included Swat, Peshawar, Swabi and Takht Bhai against inflation.
♦PDM ready for anti-govt mass movement against inflation. The important meeting chaired by Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Hafiz Hamdullah and other leaders were present at the meeting. Nawaz Sharif, Ishaq Dara and Maryam Nawaz participated through video link.
♦The dollar has reached its historic high against the rupee at Rs173.10, the rupee recovered 32 paisas and as the trading ended the dollar closed at Rs172.78 up by Rs1.60; The gold prices also increased by Rs1700 per tola to reach Rs119,700; the domestic airfares increased by 8 percent; One way fare from Lahore to Islamabad reaches Rs1500

He criticised the Opposition and said that the Opposition was holding anti-government protests "just for its own sake.

♦By-election of NA-133, the government opened the mouth of the treasury. Senator Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry started development work in the constituency. In a notification, Election Commission prohibited development works in the constituency. There will be no transfer posting in government institutions.

♦Dengue began to wreak havoc again as government tries to hide the numbers; 279 cases were reported in the Punjab province during the past 24 hours. Out of which 204 cases were detected in Lahore. Rawalpindi reported 36 cases. 21 people have succumbed to the disease in the Punjab province so far. In Kyber Pakhtunkhwa, 107 people contracted dengue during the past 24 hours. Around 141 people in Islamabad have fallen prey to dengue fever during the last 24 hours.
♦Pakistan beat West Indies by seven wickets through an all-out team effort in their warm-up match for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup on Monday. Skipper, Babar Azam smoked another 50, while Fakhar Zaman made 46 runs.
