Balochistan CM Sarfraz Bugti elected 8th chief of Bugti Tribe

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has been elected as the eighth chief of the Bugti tribe following a consensus among tribal elders and leaders, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday. 

After his selection, a traditional turban-tying ceremony (dastarbandi) was held at the chief minister’s ancestral home in Baker tehsil.

The ceremony was attended by prominent tribal elders, notables, and other dignitaries from the Bugti tribe.

Nawabzada Zamran Saleem Bugti formally announced Sarfraz Bugti’s election by placing the tribal turban on his head.

Addressing the gathering, Zamran Saleem Bugti said that under Sarfraz Bugti’s leadership, the Bugti tribe would work collectively for unity, peace, and development.

Tribal elders present at the ceremony expressed complete confidence in the newly elected chief and reaffirmed their support for his leadership.

Accepting the responsibility in line with tribal traditions, Sarfraz Bugti thanked the Bugti community and said that serving the tribe, ensuring justice, and maintaining consensus would remain his top priorities.

In his address, the Balochistan chief minister also called on those who had taken up arms to lay down their weapons and return to the national mainstream, stating that the doors of the state remain open for them.

He emphasized that no ideology can be imposed through violence, adding that the state knows how to establish its authority.

“Our life and death are with Pakistan, and will always remain so,” he said.
