Rain expected in most parts in next 24 hours

Rain-wind/thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) is expected in Islamabad, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, northeast and central Punjab and north Balochistan during the next 24 hours.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, moderate to isolated heavy snowfall may occur in hilly areas. Isolated heavy falls/hailstorm is also expected in the upper parts during the period.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, thundershowers are expected in Chitral, Dir, Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan, and Swat.
Rain with thundershowers is expected in Naran, Kaghan, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Shangla, Buner, Bajaur, Kurram, and Waziristan, Meteorological Department said.
Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Toba Tek Singh are likely to experience rain with strong winds and thundershowers.
Okara, Bahawalnagar, Jhang, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Khushab, Mianwali and Sargodha are likely to receive rain with strong winds and thundershowers.
In Balochistan, rain with thunder and lightning is expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Barkhan, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Chaman, and Pishin.
Weather will remain cold and dry in most districts of Sindh.
According to Meteorological Department, Sukkur, Larkana, and surrounding areas are expected to remain partly cloudy. Thunderstorms and snowfall are expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave was affecting the western and upper parts and was likely to intensify in the upper parts on Sunday and Monday.
During the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while very cold in upper parts and north Balochistan.
The rainfall recorded during the period was Quetta (Shiekh Manda, Samungli) and Jiwani 01mm.
The lowest minimum temperatures recorded were Leh -14 C, Kalam -11, Chitral, Gupis -08, Parachinar -07, Astore, Kalat, Malam Jabba -06, Quetta and Skardu -05 C.
