Pakistan reports another 3,557 Covid-19 cases

Another 3,557 people tested positive for the coronavirus during the past 24 hours (Sunday), raising the overall number of cases in Pakistan to 206,512.
The latest figures released by National Command and Operation Centre show that 2,437 patients are in a critical condition and being treated at different hospitals across the country. Of these, 519 are on ventilator.
However, the total of number of patients currently hospitalised is 5,349 and they are under treatment at 768 hospitals in different parts of the country.
Meanwhile, 95,407 people have so far fully recovered from the infection which means the number of closed cases now stands at 99,574 as 4,167 people died of the virus. Hence, the number of active coronavirus cases in Pakistan is 106,938.
According to the region-wise details of the coronavirus cases, Sindh has now reached another grim milestone with the total number in province crossing 80,000. The most-affected province of the country now has 80,446 confirmed cases.
The second on the list is Punjab with 74,778 cases followed by 25,778 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,643 in Islamabad, 10,376 in Balochistan, 1,442 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 1,049 in Azad Kashmir.
On the other hand, the coronavirus death toll in Pakistan reached 4,167 as 49 more deaths were recorded on Sunday.
Punjab is the most-affected region in terms of deaths as 1,681 deaths have so far been reported in the province. The figures for the other regions are: Sindh 1,269, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 922, Islamabad 127, Balochistan 116, Azad Kashmir 28 and Gilgit-Baltistan 24.
As far as testing is concerned, the number of tests conducted since the coronavirus pandemic outbreak in the country has increased to 1,262,162. The figures were reached as another 23,009 tests were carried out during the past 24 hours.
