NEPRA to hear plea for increasing electricity tariff tomorrow

National Electricity Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) announced to conduct a hearing of a petition regarding an increase in prices of electricity by 89 paisa per unit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) filed a petition in NEPRA seeking an enhancement in electricity charges.
In case of approval, the enhancement will be implemented from July 1, 20265. Before this, in April 2026, NEPRA increased Rs1.19 under the head of adjustment charges.
This increase is implemented in the electricity bills of June 2026.
