Saudi Arabia restored flight operation for 10 out of 20 countries on Saturday, reported 24News HD TV channel.
Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GAGA) issued a new travel guide in this regard. As per details, the passengers from United Arab Emirates, Germany, Portugal, Japan, the US, Ireland, Switzerland, France, England and Italy can travel to the kingdom.
Saudi Health Ministry said the decision had been taken after the decline in coronavirus cases in the concerned counties. GAGA says the decision will take effect from 1 am, May 30. The passengers have to follow the coronavirus SOPs on arrival in the kingdom.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan is not among the counties whom flight operation has been restored.
Saudi Arabia had banned expatriates from travelling to the Kingdom from 20 counties to curb the spread of the coronavirus in February. The countries were included the UAE, Egypt, Lebanon, and Turkey, as well as the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Japan.
The ban also applied to the travellers who transited through any of the 20 counties in the 14 days before the planned visit to the Kingdom.
