Three kids die as mum along with them attempt suicide
Three children died on Saturday as their mother along with them allegedly jumped into a well to commit suicide over a domestic dispute in Rawalpindi of Punjab on Saturday.
The tragedy took place in the Gujar Khan Police precincts. Rescuers reached the spot and retrieved the bodies of children. They were identified as six-month-old Antah, five-year-old Rida and three-year-old Nadia.
Police said they have launched an investigation after registering a case. In a bid to end violence against women, the Ministry of Human Rights (MOHR) launched a free, nationwide helpline.
People can report cases by calling 1099 or by downloading the ministry's rolled out app Helpline 1099. "Every woman/girl has the right to live her life safely and free of violence," the ministry stated in a tweet, adding: "Help us end violence against women and girls with our national 1099 helpline app." The ministry urged people to raise their voices and report any act of abuse or violence.
