TLP protest: Govt fails to maintain writ

The country has been in a state of chaos and the contradictions in the statements of the minister have shown the government’s failure to maintain its writ, remarked senior journalists and analysts
During 24NewsHD TV programme – Saleem Bokhari, Iftikhar Ahmed, PJ Mir and Javed Iqbal deliberated upon the ongoing crisis and political situation.
Salim Bokhari recalled Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid’s statement that the TLP is declared defunct not a banned body while Fawad Chaudhry said that it is a terrorist organization backed by India, so there is no question of negotiations.
Asad Umar “has evidence of foreign funding and Senator Faisal Vawda’s remark that the Prime Minister’s was unaware of the ‘agreement with the TLP, he said questioning the justification of talks with ‘terrorists’.
He said the government did not realise the gravity of the situation. He laid stress on solving such a big problem by involving political parties.PJ Mir suggested the government should seek help from seasoned politicians Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.
He said the expulsion of the French ambassador means a cut-off from the European Union and facing sanctions. Salim Bokhari said such a step will hurt the families of martyrs.
Javed Iqbal said that the issue should be resolved in light of the decision of Justice Qazi Faez Isa. The panel also discussed the possibility of a no-confidence motion against the government by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari along with the PML-N.
