The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has terminated the basic party membership of Faisal Vawda over the issue of his ‘controversial’ press conference, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The party on Saturday issued a notification in this regard.

A couple of days ago, PTI President (Sindh chapter) Ali Haider Zaidi issued a notification to Vawda for committing a violation of the party policy and directed him to submit his reply within two days.

But the former MNA and senator has failed to submit his reply, on which the PTI has terminated his basic membership of the party.

In his press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, Vawda claimed that the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif was “pre-planned” and “orchestrated in Pakistan”, adding that the evidence of the crime was erased. He went on to say that establishment had no role in this killing, the role of the one would be apparent in coming days.

Vawda also claimed that the PTI’s long march to Islamabad would be a ‘bloody’ one as several bodies would fall.

Reacting to Vawda’s presser, PTI leader Asad Umar said his statement did not represent the party’s policy and views adding that the PTI Sindh president was told to issue a show-cause notice to Vawda for violating party policy.
