Seatbelt violation tops 4,301 traffic e-challans in Karachi

Karachi traffic police issued as many as 4301 e-challans to citizens in a day in Karachi after launch of e-challan system, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday. 

According to DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah, most challans issued for not wearing seat belts

As many as 2290 challans were issued for not wearing seat belts.

About 845 challans issued for over speeding and 655 challans issued for not wearing helmets 

Yesterday, challans worth more than Rs12.5 million were issued in just six hours after implementation of e-challan in Karachi. 

According to the initial report of Karachi Traffic Police, a total of 2,662 challans were issued.

Four challans were issued for stop line violation, 1535 for seat Citizens belt violation, 166 for crossing red light and 507 for driving without helmet.

Four challans were issued for wrong way driving on one way street and seven challans were issued for tinted glasses, five for wrong parking, 32 for using mobile phone, three for wrong direction.

Further, five challans were issued for illegal parking, five for no parking and three challans were issued for wrong way driving.
