Ministry rejects NAB’s request for extending top guns' term
Sources say accountability body wanted tenure of chairman, deputy chairman and prosecutor general extended
The Law and Justice Ministry has rejected the recommendations of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for extending the terms of the anti-corruption big guns.
According to sources, NAB presented a proposal to the minister for extending the terms of its chairman, deputy chairman and prosecutor general so that they could continue leading the ongoing campaign against corruption.
The ministry refused to do so as the sources said the bureau could not justify the recommendations.
