At least five people were killed and over 20 injured in a collision between a bus carrying mourners and a trawler on Super Highway near Hyderabad on Wednesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The bus was travelling from Karachi to Khairpur when it met the accident on the Super Highway in Nooriabad. According to Rescue officials, there were women and children among the wounded.

Sources said the bus was carrying mourners from Karachi’s Ancholi Society Federal B Area to Khairpur for taking party in Imam Hussain’s (AS) chehlum. Mourners from Jaffer Tayyar Society and from other areas were also on board the bus.

The sources said the condition of 10 injured mourners was stated to be very serious.

The bus was totally destroyed after colliding with the trawler while the injured were rushed to a hospital in Kotri.

The sources said the dead and injured will soon be shifted to Karachi.
