Govt surrenders before Kissan Ittihad; accepts demands

The federal government on Thursday surrendered before the protesters of the Kissan Ittihad and accepted their demands.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the government has directed the electricity distribution companies not to disconnect the connections of agriculture-based tube wells.
The federal government has also stopped the distribution companies of electricity to impose surcharges on the late payments of electricity bills till October 10, 2022.
Earlier today, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah held negotiations with the protesters of Kissan Ittihad in which they had moved two major demands related to connections of tube wells and surcharge on bills.
As per the channel report, there are chances that the farmers are likely to end their protest soon.
