The proposal came in the wake of the third wave of the coronavirus that has hit the country and proved more deadly than the previous two coronavirus waves.

The meeting was attended by Secretary School Education Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, Secretary Colleges Khalid Hyderabad Shah, chairmen of all boards, representatives of Private Schools Association and other members of the committee.

The meeting considered activities in educational institutions in view of the current situation.

The participants of the meeting were briefed on the decisions of the Sindh Corona Task Force and National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).

It may be recalled that the NCOC has shut down all educational institutions until April 11 to stem the spread of Covid-19.

On the other hand, private schools associations in Sindh have urged the education minister to review the proposal of shutting down the schools amid the ongoing third wave of Covid-19.

The associations maintained that the Sindh government should close parks and cinemas first, then they must go for the closure of the educational institutions.
