AJK LB polls: PLM-N lead in Haveli and Kahuta districts

The unofficial results of the second phase of local government elections in four districts of the Poonch division of AJK have started pouring in, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Saturday.

As per the schedule, polling continued from 8am to 5pm without any interval and long queues of voters were witnessed at polling stations showing much interest of people in elections. A few incidents of clashes between rivals occurred. 

According to the unofficial results of 11 out of 12 Union Council seats of Haveli/ Kahuta Azad Kashmir, PML-N is leading with six seats while PPP stands second with four and the ruling PTI has won only one seat.  

Results of some polling stations of Union Council Kalali are pending. 

As many as 61 candidates ran for a total of 12 union councils in the district. Of these, 40 candidates were from various political parties while 21 candidates contested independently. 

As per unofficial results of Union Councils received from Haveli/ Kahuta, PPP candidate Shaukat Dar succeeded from UC Khurshid Abad, PML-N Khalid Naqshbandi from Kearney, PML-N Chaudhry Hakim from Chanjal, PML-N Ch Maqbool from Sangal, PPP Nazar Gilani from Basahan Sharif, PML-N Javed Dar from Hilan, PTI Ch Latif from Chakias PPP Rathore Shafqat from Budhal and PML-N's Hafiz Ismail won from Union Council of Bhidi. 

 PPP Akbar Dar is leading from Union Council Kalamulla while results of the Union Council of Digwar and Union Council of Kalali are yet to come. 

The results of the three seats of the town committee have also been completed. 

PTI won two seats while the rest of one seat is won by PML-N. 

As per unofficial results of Bagh district, PTI has won 8 UC seats, PPP bagged three, and independently got three seats. 

PTI Sardar Aftab won from Seri Bari Kot, Mirza Waheed Baig from  

Dara Bir Pani, PTI Sardar Rashid Tahiri from Samni, and PPP 

Rabia Hayat won her seat.
