Authorities have ascertained the identity of the Islamabad suicide bomber, the 24 NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.

According to sources in the police, the man who blew himself up on December 23 in Islamabad has been identified from a mobile SIM found on the spot.

The attacker is identified as 22-year-old Saqibuddin Umar from the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, they said, adding that the suicide bomber travelled to Swabi from Kurram on December 22 and reached Islamabad on the morning of 23rd.

The insiders said he was wearing a jacket filled with 2kg-explosive material and was facilitated by a resident of Rawalpindi.
