Punjab okays 25 special allowance for govt servants

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired the cabinet meeting on Thursday which approved a special allowance for 721,000 government employees instead of a disparity, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The cabinet has approved the 25 percent special allowance instead of disparity allowance and clarified that this allowance will not be given to those who had salary increases already. Special allowance will be given from the date of June 1st.

There will be a slight increase in the salaries of the government servants. There will be Rs2,283 to Rs2,265 increase in salaries of grade 1-5 government servants while grade 6-11 will have an increase in their salaries from Rs2,655 to Rs3,040.

As per the cabinet decision, grade 11 to grade 16 government employees will get Rs3,143 to Rs4,728 increase in their basic salaries after 25 percent special allowance. 

There will be Rs3,037 increase in the salaries of grade-17 officers and grade-18 will get Rs2,835 while grade-19 officers will get Rs5,921.
