Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah Sunday reviewed the 10th Muharram main procession route from Aram Bagh to Saddar area in Karachi, leading an effort to keep the route dry for the mourners taking part in the procession, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Murad Ali Shah monitored the procession from Capri Cinema and later reviewed the route till Tower area. He also visited Asna Ashri mosque located near Mumbai Bazaar. He also visited the Kharadar area where the sewerage system became choked after the recent monsoon rains that lashed the port city leaving scenes of devastation and frequent urban flooding.

He apologized to the people of Kharadar and made it clear to them that the water will be removed from their area by Sunday night.

Talking to the media, Murad Ali Shah said the Water and Sewerage Board (WSB) has installed 20 dewatering machines and soon water will be removed from the areas around Asna-e-Ashri mosque and Kharadar.

“We have deployed cleaning teams that will wash the areas as well once the litter is removed from the areas,” he father said. He said the Sindh government is trying to remove water from the Muharram procession route.
