Pakistan makes progress on six remaining FATF points

January 30, 2021 04:42 PM

Pakistan is doing extremely well in terms of implementation on Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) Action Plan as it has completely complied with 21, out of 27, plan’s points, besides making significant progress on the remaining six, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Quoting sources, the TV channel reported that Pakistan had informed FATF about the accomplishments it had achieved so far on this front.

The country has enacted laws to stop money laundering and choke funding of militants. Not only laws were enacted but the country also took concrete steps to stop funding of the militants and money laundering.

Officials have told 24News TV channel that by January 2019, Pakistan had met only one of FATF’s conditions completely; partially met one while there was no implementation on the remaining 25.

Similarly, in October 2020, the country had completely complied with 21 of FATF Action Plan’s points, and partial progress on the remaining six.
