Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari has been dismissed after losing a no-confidence vote, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

PTI’s Raja Basharat moved the no-trust motion against Dost after the latter’s controversial ruling on Punjab CM election that the Supreme Court annulled.

Lawmakers cast 186 votes in the favour of removing the deputy speaker.

PTI’s Yasmin Rashid cast the first vote followed by Iftikhar Gilani.

Earlier in the day, PTI candidate Sibtain Khan won the seat of Punjab Assembly speaker in a contest against Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar.
