March 30, 2021 01:09 PM

A young daughter of a labourer was gang-raped in Phalia and the police were reluctant to register a case against the culprits, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The sad incident took place in Phalia’s suburban of Kidar Sharif, where the 13-year-old, Rabia, was kidnapped by the influential accused with the help of a woman, Rasoolan, said the labourer Muhammad Ashraf.

The girl told newsmen that the influential persons kidnapped her and took her to their dera in village Ratukala in Sargodha. An accused, Nauman, even took money from other people for raping her, she added.

She said the accused also tortured her brutally, adding when she succeeded in breaking their shackles and escaped they again tried to kidnap her.

Her father Ashraf said they had filed an application in Kathiala Police Station but they are not being paid any heed.

The poor labourer said the police were reluctant to take action against the influential people. He appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to take notice of the incident and ensure provision of justice to them.
