Punjab Governor Baligh Ur Rehman has ordered inquiry against Dean Economics and Management Sciences at GC University Faisalabad Dr Sofia Anwar on allegations of incompetency and financial irregularities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Dean Dr Sofia Anwar is accused of submitting her fake annual performance reports.

Moreover, Dr Sofia Anwar is also accused of financial irregularities in the university hostel and delaying scrutiny of Dr Nadeem Sohail as Professor of Economics.

On these allegations, The Punjab governor has issued an inquiry order against Dr Sofia Anwar under the PEDA Act.

According to the text of the inquiry order, Dr Sofia Anwar submitted ACR with bogus signatures in year 2014. There was also a complaint against Dr Sofia for financial irregularities in the hostel in 2016.

The appointment process for Professor of Economics from the year 2021 has not been completed on time.

Scrutiny process of Prof Dr Nadeem Sohail has not been completed despite the passage of more than 15 months.

The Punjab governor has also ordered the GCUF Vice Chancellor to convene a syndicate meeting within 30 days.

An inquiry has been ordered under the PEDA Act against Dean Dr Sofia Anwar in the syndicate.
