Marked drop in temperatures as rain lashes Punjab
At last, a big relief for the people enduring intense heat for the last one week as heavy rain lashed different parts of north-east Punjab, including Lahore, on Saturday morning, bringing down mercury considerably, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
It turned dark in Lahore as thick black clouds hovered over the city, and soon it started raining cats and dogs.

Strong winds, whose speed was recorded at 17 kilometers per hour, turned the weather quite pleasant. The level of moisture in the air stood at 61 percent,

Rain, accompanied by hails, was also reported from Gujranwala and surrounding areas, while rain and strong winds turned the weather pleasant in Narowal and its adjoining areas.
Similarly, the residents of Kharian heaved a sigh of relief after rain lashed the city and rid them of extreme heat.

40 degrees Celsius temperature forecast for Islamabad
Hot and dry weather was forecast for Islamabad as the weather department said that the daytime temperature in the federal capital was likely to touch 40 degrees mark.
However, it predicted strong winds and light rain for the city in the evening.
Heat, humidity persists in Karachi
It was hot and extremely humid in Karachi on Saturday morning as the temperature rose to 31 degrees Celsius, while the Met Office said that the maximum temperature in the port city would rise to 38 degrees Celsius.
More showers forecast
On the other hand, the Met Office forecast that the rain spell in Punjab would in the next week.
It also predicted rainfall for Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and KP today in the evening.
