Pakistan reports 2,839 new virus cases with 40 deaths

Pakistan Monday reported 2,839 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours (Sunday), shows the latest data from National Command and Control Authority.

There were 40 more patients who died of the deadly virus as the total number of deaths have reached at 8025 in the country since the emergence of the coronavirus in February this year.

According to details, 2,839 more patients of coronavirus emerged after conducting 33,302 tests. Till now, Pakistan has recorded 398,024 cases so far that returned positive after conducting 5,508,810 tests.

There were 1,613 more recoveries as 341,243 total patients have recovered from the disease. According to the official data, there are 48,576 active cases in the country with 2,046 patients in critical condition.

Punjab has recorded 524 new coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours, according to the government's Covid-19 portal, taking the provincial tally to 119,035 with 17,599 active cases. The province also recorded 12 new deaths as death toll stands at 2,991. With 114 new recoveries, 98,445 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Sindh has recorded 419 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 173,014 with 18,561 active cases. The province also recorded 13 new deaths, taking the death toll to 2,924. With 764 new recoveries, 151,529 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 313 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 47,190 with 4,022 active cases. The province also reported 9 new deaths, taking the death toll to 1,368. With 183 new recoveries, 41,800 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan has recorded 57 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 17, 158 with 651 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll reaches at 166. With 84 new recoveries, 16,341 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad has recorded 341 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 30,123 with 6,073 active cases. The federal capital reported five new deaths as virus death toll reaches at 314. With 337 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients remains at 23,736 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 173 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 6,855 with 1,500 active cases. AJK reported one new death as the death toll reaches at 165. With 114 new recoveries in the AJK, 5,190 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded 12 new cases during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 4,649 with 170 active cases. With no new death reported, the death toll remains at 97. With 17 new recoveries, 4,382 patients have recovered from the virus so far.
