Founding day of PPP being celebrated

The founding day of the Pakistan People’s Party is being marked with a renewed resolve to continue the struggle for strengthening democracy, constitutional supremacy and human rights.

Special events have been organised to pay homage to founding leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for his sacrifice for the sake of democracy and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto for her lifelong struggle for the cause.

Like other parts, the PPP Peshawar chapter planned a rally. 40-feet wide and nine feet high stage is prepared. 

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the participants. PPP leaders Khursheed Shah and Qamar Zaman Kaira reviewed the arrangements. 

More than 30,000 seats are being set up. Thousands of people gathered at the venue on the eve and raised slogans in favour of their leaders.

In a message on the eve, former president has reiterated resolve to stand firm for strengthening democracy, constitutional supremacy and human rights in the country.

Powerful parliament and sovereignty of the people will not be compromised, he said.  Asif Ali Zardari said the PPP gave constitution to the country ensuring democratic rights to the people. He renewed pledge to continue the mission of PPP leaders.

Senator Saleem Mandviwala said the sacrifices made by the PPP for the restoration of democracy are unprecedented. Bhutto did not compromise on his principles, he recalled adding that Bhutto is the name of an ideology. 

Under the leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the party has been on a mission to provide people with their rights.

In London, the founding day ceremony was held at a local hall. A good number of leaders and activists participated in the event.

Mohsin Bari  said in his address that PPP has fulfilled its promises made to the people. PPP will lead the country out of crisis under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto. The PPP Foundation Day cake was also cut at the ceremony and full confidence was expressed in the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
