Bilawal to address PPP Foundation Day rally in Karachi today
On the occasion of the 58th Foundation Day, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address a public rally through video-link in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The PPP will display its political power at Eidgah Ground in Korangi. All preparations for the public rally have been finalised. Central leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party will be addressing the public gathering.
Earlier, speaking at a press conference, PPP leader Saeed Ghani and Senator Waqar Mehdi said the PPP founder, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, established the party 58 years ago, opening Pakistan's political arena to the general public, workers, and middle- and lower-income classes, which had previously been dominated by feudal lords and elite circles.
"Shaheed Bhutto gave political awareness to the masses and minimised the influence of the establishment in politics," Ghani said. "PPP has historically faced electoral manipulation more than any other party, yet it remains a symbol of the people's voice in Pakistan."
Ghani emphasised that the upcoming rally will be one of Karachi's largest, with participation from all 47 provincial constituencies, and party workers and office-bearers arriving in processions. "The event will start at 1 pm, and the chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address participants via video link," he added.
