MQM stages rally for Karachi's progress, unity, justice

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Sunday staged a rally to express its unwavering commitment to Karachi's progress, unity, and justice, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing the crowd, Farooq Sattar underscored the significance of Liaquatabad, emphasizing that it is a heritage trust and the hometown of Liaquat Ali Khan, Pakistan's first Prime Minister. He praised Liaquatabad's residents as being middle-class, cultured, and educated individuals.

Sattar recalled that when youth initiated this movement, they encountered obstacles, but they remained undeterred. He highlighted the area's notable distinction of having the highest number of martyrs and missing comrades.

Farooq Sattar emphasized that rescuing the missing comrades of Liaquatabad is crucial for Pakistan's unity and urged that this demand be conveyed from Liaquatabad to Islamabad.

Characterizing Liaquatabad as a gem of Pakistan, Sattar noted its diverse populace.

He stated that the rise of Liaquatabad should prompt the governments of Islamabad to take notice.

In recognizing the economic contribution of Liaquatabad's traders, Sattar pointed out that their tax payments exceed those collected from the entire city of Lahore. He reiterated the sentiment that Karachi serves as the "Power Bank" of Pakistan, and MQM is the "Power Bank" of Karachi.

Sattar drew attention to the significance of the return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, suggesting that Karachi, too, should regain its position within the national mainstream. He advocated that Karachi be treated fairly and that its citizens should receive the same level of justice and first-class treatment as others in Pakistan.

He lamented the prevalence of corruption and looting in Karachi over the past fifteen years and called for a departure of those who have exploited the city, likening them to "Israeli feudal lords."

Switching focus to the current mayor's efforts, he observed that attempts were underway to reclaim District Central. Sattar also commended MQM's role in preserving the Students' Ground from occupation attempts by the mafia.

Nasreen Jalil, Senior Deputy Convenor of MQM, reiterated the significance of Liaquatabad and its people. She highlighted the sacrifices of the forefathers, who laid the foundation for Pakistan and affirmed MQM's commitment to taking the country forward.

Anees Qaimkhani, Deputy Convenor MQM, emphasized Liaquatabad's historical and political importance, making a strong case for MQM's continued relevance. He recalled the rally in support of Palestinian brothers, further highlighting the unity of the people of Liaquatabad.

Mustafa Kamal, another Senior Deputy Convenor, highlighted the challenges facing Karachi and MQM's resolve to address them. He noted the absence of PTI in Karachi and urged citizens to cast their votes for MQM.

He pointed out that Karachi's issues remain unresolved, including water scarcity and the need for a bribe to lodge an FIR.

Kamal drew attention to the lack of progress and contrasted it with the world's advancements, emphasizing the need for change.
