PM Shehbaz meets President Zardari at Presidency

An important meeting took place at the Presidency on Thursday as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met President Asif Ali Zardari, according to official sources.

The meeting, which began earlier this evening, was attended by senior leaders from both the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) — signalling growing political engagement between the two coalition partners.

Prominent attendees included PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Senator Sherry Rehman and Syed Naveed Qamar. Representing the government were Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi and Advisor to the Prime Minister Senator Rana Sanaullah.

While details of the discussion have not yet been officially released, sources suggest that the meeting focused on current political and economic developments, governance matters, and coordination between the coalition partners on key national issues.

The gathering marks another significant consultation between the top leadership as the government faces pressing challenges, including economic reforms and ongoing provincial coordination efforts.

An official statement from the Presidency is expected later tonight.
