DIG Kamyana rules out compromise on security of CPEC workers

A high-level meeting of Monthly Battalion Commanders was held at SP Headquarters Manawan in Lahore on Wednesday to review steps for further improvement in security of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and non-CPEC projects, reported City42 TV channel.
The meeting was chaired by DIG Bilal Siddique Kamyana. Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) and Motorway security issues were also discussed during the meeting. The security agenda of foreign consulates was also discussed, the TV channel reported.
Additional Director Administration Nasir Sial, Additional Director Operational Col (retd) Mehdi Najam, SP Headquarters Wasim Ahmed Dar and others attended the meeting.
DIG Kamyana said mock exercises should be conducted on the CPEC and non-CPEC project sites. He said there should be no compromise on the security of Chinese people.
Bilal Kamyana said focus must be on the police recruits’ management and their welfare and he also directed to solve the problems of the police force on an urgent basis. Bilal Kamyana said all officers should spend time in the field. “Police should be given leave as per leave policy,” the DIG directed.
He also directed improvements for mess and accommodation of the police force.
