American writer and blogger Cynthia Ritchie is to host a show on Pakistan Television (PTV), an announcement which she posted on her Twitter handle and then quickly deleted, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The likely ‘joining’ of Cynthia Ritchie was widely condemned on social media where users questioned whether a Pakistani national can broadcast a show on The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), an American public broadcaster and television programme distributor.

Cynthia Ritchie first announced her joining PTV in a tweet then deleted that shrouding the matter in mystery.

Cynthia Ritchie is an American ‘filmmaker’ and social media celebrity who has been living in Pakistan since 2010. 

In June 2020, Cynthia Ritchie had levelled allegations of sexual misconduct against Pakistan People's Party leader Rehman Malik.
