Two jawans of Lahore Police have been gunned down in crossfire while trying to nab dacoits in Manga Mandi bypass area, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Constable Adil Shah and Constable Ibad Dogar embraced martyrdom in the shootout on Tuesday. 

Adil Shah received bullets in his chest while Ibad died because a bullet pierced through his head. 

Both police personnel were responding to a call by a citizen of a robbery. The dacoits snatched Rs60,000 from the citizen near Manga Mandi graveyard and tried to flee away from the scene, however, both police constables intercepted the fleeing robbers.

The dacoits opened fire at both the policemen when near Manga Mandi bypass.

Lahore DIG (Operations) Suhail Chaudhary sought a report and ordered to arrest the attackers at the earliest. 

DIG (Operations) also reached the hospital to inquire about the incident and expressed solidarity with the fallen policemen's families.
