Diesel thieves' gang arrested in Lahore

A gang involved in diesel looting from petrol pumps through the InDrive app has been arrested in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

SHO of Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate Police Station, Rizwan Cheema, along with his team, traced the accused.

According to the police spokesperson, the accused used to book loader rickshaws through the InDrive app, fill diesel in drums, load it on rickshaws and send them off.

Later, the accused themselves used to escape from the spot on the pretext of going to the bathroom.

The accused were identified as Aqeel, Tayeb, Zakir Hussain, Bilal and Noman.

Cash, a mobile, a pistol and a magazine were recovered from the accused, and cases were registered.

The accused have so far taken diesel worth hundreds of thousands by tricking two petrol pump owners.

Raids are being conducted to arrest the other accomplices of the accused.

SP Saddar handed over the recovered money to the affected people.
