Former federal minister Syed Tanveer Gilani passes away in Islamabad

Syed Tanveer ul Hassan Gilani, a prominent social figure and cousin of Chairman of the Senate and former Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, passed away in Islamabad today after a period of illness.

He had been under treatment at a hospital in the federal capital, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

Belonging to Multan, Syed Tanveer ul Hassan was a former federal minister and served as president of Anjuman Islamia.

His demise marks a significant loss for the Gilani family and the broader social and political community of South Punjab.

His body will be transported from Islamabad to Multan later today for burial rites.

PM offers condolences:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of Syed Tanveer ul Hassan Gilani.

In a statement issued by the PM Office, Shehbaz Sharif offered prayers for the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Acknowledging Gilani’s public service, the prime minister noted that the late leader made unforgettable contributions to the welfare of the people, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and commitment.
