PDMA issues rain alert for Punjab from tomorrow 

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab on Tuesday issued an alert for more rains in the province from tomorrow until April 4, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the spokesman for the PDMA, heavy rains were expected in most districts of the province.

Elaborating further, he said that Lahore, Rawalpindi, Attock, Murree, Jehlum, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Faisalabad, Mandi Bahauddin and other cities would receive rains during the aforementioned period.

On the other hand, PDMA DG Irfan Ali Kathia said that showers could result in landslides in the mountainous areas. “Besides that, deluge in rain drains of Dera Ghazi Khan and Koh-e-Suleman Range has also been forecast,” he said, adding that in view of the fact, district administrations and rescue departments across the province had been directed to remain on their toes.

18 die in rain-related incidents in KP

Recent rains have wreaked havoc in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as 18 people have been killed, while 72 have been injured in different incidents.

According to a report compiled by the PDMA, 14 children and three women are among those killed.
