Much-awaited summer vacations start today

Amidst the severe heatwave that has engulfed most parts of the country, the much-awaited summer break for schoolchildren is going to be started today (June 1), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The Punjab School Education Department on May 26 issued a notification for summer vacations in all the schools of the province.

According to a notification issued in this regard, the schools will observe two months summer vacations from June 1 to July 31.

The education department has directed the school administrations to give summer vacation work to the children till May 31. The department has also directed the schools that the results for exams of the class first to eighth will also be announced before the end of this month.

As per the directions of the education department, new syllabuses will be distributed to government school children during the summer holidays.

The new academic year will begin on August 1.

Federal capital 

However, summer vacations have been announced in the federal government educational institutions from June 06 to July 31.

The federal government has also issued a notification of the summer vacations on May 27.

According to the notification, the summer vacation will be started from June 6 and will last till July 31 and the educational institutions will reopen on August 1.

The notification also said that the new session in the federal government educational institutions will be started from August 1.

As per the notification, all heads of the educational institutions have also been directed to complete the admissions during the summer vacations.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Department of Primary & Secondary Education has also announced the dates for the summer vacations in the schools with schools in winter districts observing summer vacations for only one month.

According to the announcement, all the primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools in the summer districts of the province will remain shut for the summer vacations from June 1, 2022 to August 14, 2022.

However, the schools in the winter districts will observe summer vacations from July 1 to July 31, 2022.

Sindh 

Sindh Education department has issued a notification of two-month-long summer vacation for all schools in the province from June 1 to July 31

All public and private schools will remain closed in June and July and will resume the educational activities from August 1.

The notification reads, “All public and private institutions under the administrative control of School Education and Literacy Department Government of Sindh shall remain closed from 01-06-2022 to 07-07-2022 as summer vacation.”

Lahore schools which will remain open to be fined 

On the other hand, the Punjab School Education Department (SED) on Saturday directed the district education authority (DEA) to take action against those schools which will remain open and flout the summer break order.

Complying with the orders, the Lahore DEA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pervaiz Akhtar set up five teams to conduct raids in different areas of the city and take action against the government or private schools which would remain functioning during the summer vacation.
